I’m a child of God, wife of Brashaun, Mother of Pyper-Rose and Brashaun Jr. I’m a Registered nurse who recently took extra time off to help create a smoother transition for my family as we move from Saginaw, MI back home to Detroit. I also have a passion for real estate investments and community development. I serves as community liaison my moms non-profit, Transition 123 Inc. which helps provide housing for homeless and women attempting to flee from domestic violence.
How would I describe myself?
I’d describe my self as a city girl with a country girls heart. I was born and raised in Detroit and I’ve spent 10 years in Saginaw. I love the energy, excitement and entertainment the city brings, but I’m most happy in small intimate groups. I’m most comfortable sitting by a fireplace or bonfire drinking coffee or wine. I also enjoy the outdoors, like skiing or horse riding through a nice fall trail. On the weekends you can catch me out one a date with hubby, at multiple family engagements, community events or just ‘chillaxin’ at home with my family.
Why Blog?
My life is usually busy, so it is my hope that this will be a place I can take a moment to slow down and reflect on the things that matter most to me such as spiritually, marriage, and family. I complete many creative projects so I may blog about some of my home renovations or random moments of creativity. I usually don’t mix my personal life and work but I may share some of my nursing experiences. I’m not sure yet!
What will I blog about?
I’m hoping most of my post will be about being young and married. I was married at 19 to my loving husband Shaun. I’m excited to announce we’re approaching our 9th anniversary !
Back when we got married, there weren’t many couples our age who we could share experiences with and at 28 we still find it difficult connecting with other couples in our generation. This was way before #blacklove or #couplegoals was trending. God has blessed our marriage and our family and my goal is to inspire other young couples in their journey.
Why did I decide to make this blog public?
I decided to go public with this blog because I’m constantly posting in my journal via Day One app and I have years of archives stored there. I’ve always loved to write since I was in elementary school and journaling is my therapy and creativity portal. So I finally felt compelled to share some of my many thoughts with my friends and family. I plan to post fresh material but occasionally I’ll pull something from my old personal archives.
